Star A Level students from Central Sixth have been presented with prizes to mark this year’s excellent results!
- Central Sixth Student of the Year 2018 went to Lauren Brant, who has earned a place at Lancaster University.
- Tamara Herrington won The John Tew Achievement Award – in honour of the college’s former chair of governors. Tamara is on her way to Durham University to study Politics, which her lecturer Dr Matt Lamb says she ‘lives and breathes’ as an active campaigner for equality and diversity.
- The Helena Kennedy Prize for Law & Business: Kaven Judge, who is about to start his Higher Apprenticeship with KPMG
- The AJP Taylor Prize for Humanities: Jonifah Richard
- The Virginia Woolf Prize for English & The Arts: Katy Forrester
- The Central Sixth Prize for Overcoming Adversity: Rachel Baldini
- The Central Sixth Prize for Effort and Determination: Hema Tiwana
- The Central Sixth Prize for Biggest Contribution: Megan Powell
Sandwell College Principal Graham Pennington said: “We’re immensely proud as our students have achieved record results, and their success has encouraged record numbers of young people to apply for admission to our A Level programmes.”
Students at Central Sixth soared to success with a 100 per cent pass rate in 19 different subjects this year.
