In a ground-breaking new initiative Sandwell College has teamed up with CU Coventry, part of the Coventry University Group to offer students career-defining degree courses.
Sandwell College has signed a partnership with CU Coventry to offer Coventry University’s HNC, HND and degree qualifications at the college’s £70 million Advanced & Higher Education Centre in West Bromwich.
Ranked number 12 UK university in the Guardian University Guide 2018, and awarded the TEF Gold standard, Coventry University is an ideal match for Sandwell College, which is now ranked 12th in the country for its achievement rates (Further Education and Skills National Achievement Rate Tables – June 2017).
Higher education students at Sandwell College will now have that all-important university experience, without the living and long distance travel costs, while they will also save many thousands of pounds in annual tuition fees, and benefit from CU Coventry’s tariff entry requirements which are not as high as with many other institutions.
Many of the new courses, which include Biological and Chemical Sciences, Combined Engineering, Digital and Technology Solutions, Law and Practice, Management and Leadership, Professional Accounting, Policing, Public Health and Community Studies, offer students the potential to achieve an academic qualification plus a professional qualification, which will help make them even more attractive to employers.
The qualifications awarded by the university have the same value as they would if learners studied them at Coventry University.
The flexible-start university programmes will run alongside the college’s existing successful higher education courses in Access to Health, Art, Automotive Diagnostics and Management Principles, Education and Teaching, Early Years Services, Photography, and Sports Development.
