This qualification enables practising or aspiring managers to understand the business case for equality, diversity and inclusion and the role of managers in creating inclusive cultures within organisations.  Effective management of equality and diversity not only benefits staff and stakeholders, it  can positively impact on an organisation’s achievement.

How much does the course cost?

The total fee for this course (including registration and certification) is £300. HOWEVER, if you live within ‘West Midlands Combined Authority’ region, you may be eligible to a FREE place on this course subject to certain terms and conditions.

How is the Course Delivered?

The weekly classes are delivered on Wednesdays 1 - 4pm at the College’s ‘Tomorrow’s People’ Centre at Bennetts Hill in Birmingham City Centre.  New Street Station and Snow Hill Station are only a few minutes walk away and the area is well served by buses and trams.  In addition, online, on-demand learning materials are available 24/7 and are accessible by both PCs and mobile devices.

Course requirements

You must have gained a minimum of five GCSEs at grade C or above including English or equivalent qualifications.   Ideally, you will also have a CMI Level 3 Diploma or similar qualifications at level 3.

However, if you are a mature applicant (over 21 years) your work experience (paid and/or unpaid) may be taken into account in lieu of formal qualifications.

You will study one unit:-

 

  • Managing Equality, Diversity and Inclusion

 

Whilst on the course, you will be given FREE professional membership of the CMI, which includes access to a range of CMI products and services to support you throughout the qualification and later as you progress in their career.

 

 

When does the course start and end?

Start Date: 11th January 2023

End Date:  15th February 2023

 

This qualification is assessed by one written assignment of approximately 2,500-4,000 words.

Progression opportunities include moving on to other Level 5 CMI qualifications, for example  CMI Level 5 Certificate or Diploma in Management and Leadership.  If you achieve this Award qualification, you will be able to transfer this qualification across as part of these qualifications.
