If you are a practising or aspiring Senior Manager or Director, who wants to understand the impact of mental health and wellbeing on organisational performance, whilst improving your leadership and strategic management skills and developing your ability to apply them at a strategic level within your organisation, then this course is for you. During the course you will critically assess the complexities of managing wellbeing and appraise contemporary approaches to the creation of healthy work systems. By the end of the course you will be able to propose recommendations to create and sustain a positive culture of mental health and wellbeing within your own organisation.
You must have gained at least a Level 5 CMI Diploma in Management and Leadership or equivalent qualification (e.g. HND/FdA/BA/BSc in Management) or a CIPD Level 5 Qualification in Human Resource Management/ Organisational Development or equivalent qualification (e.g. HND/Fda/BA/BSC in HRM) HOWEVER, we are able to consider your level of managerial experience in lieu of formal qualifications.
It is essential that applicants have the knowledge, skills and behaviours to drive business activities in a senior management and leadership role, this will be established via an interview.
You will study one unit:-
· Approaches to Strategic Mental Health and Wellbeing
Whilst on the course, you will be given FREE professional membership of the CMI, which includes access to a range of CMI products and services to support you throughout the qualification and later as you progress in their career.
How is the Course Delivered?
The course is delivered over two consecutive Fridays (9am -5pm) at the College’s ‘Tomorrow’s People’ centre at 13 Bennetts Hill in Birmingham City Centre. New Street Station and Snow Hill Station are only a few minutes walk away and the area is well served by buses and trams.
How much does the Course Cost?
The total fee for this course (including registration and certification) is £500.

How is the Course Assessed?
The course is assessed by one written assignment of approximately 3,500-4,000 words.
On successful completion of this course, you may pursue other CMI Level 7 qualifications – e.g. the CMI Level 7 Diploma in Strategic Management and Leadership.
