WHO IS THIS COURSE FOR?

This professional qualification enables you to support teaching and learning within primary, secondary or special schools. It is aimed at adult learners from the age of 19 upwards, who are working in schools or who are prepared to complete a work placement.

FORMAL ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

You will need the ability to achieve Level 2 in Literacy and Numeracy. A DBS check will be required so that students can complete work placements as part of the course.

WHAT DOES THE COURSE INVOLVE?

Safeguarding
Equality, diversity and inclusion
Schools as organisations
Communication
Behaviour management.

HOW WILL I BE ASSESSED?

Assessment is conducted formally within the work placement through direct observation. Tasks and projects will also be set in order to successfully complete a professional portfolio.

WHERE CAN I GO NEXT?

Successful candidates can progress to the Level 3 certificate or seek employment as a learning support assistant.
