
This Level 2 Technical Certificate in Hairdressing is a main qualification for school leavers or adult learners who wish to pursue a career in hairdressing. Once qualified you are able to start work as a first-year improver in a hairdressing salon.
You will need GCSE Grade 4 or above in English and Maths.
This course is funded for 16-18 year-olds, and may be funded for adult learners in receipt of benefits, or adults who do not hold a Level 2 qualification.
Welfare support is also available for help purchasing kits if you meet the eligibility criteria.

You will be graded Pass, Merit or Distinction.
On successful completion of this Level 2 Technical Certificate in Hairdressing course you can progress to a Level 3 Hairdressing qualification.
Career routes include employment as a qualified hairdresser in salons or cruise ships. You could also become self-employed or work in the retail sector as a product brand representative. Alternatively, you could work as a trainer/educator assessing and/or teaching.
