Aissatou started ESOL Entry Level in 2015 at Sandwell College. She soon moved on to an Access to Social Science & Health Professionals course to do Nursing. She achieved many distinctions for her work and has now progressed to Birmingham City University to study adult nursing.


 

 

 

 

The following benefits (in your name) may allow you to have your course for free. You need to show us proof of your recent entitlement to benefit.

  • Job Seeker’s Allowance (JSA) including JSA N1 Only Credits
  • Employment Support Allowance – Work related Activity Group (ESA WRAG)
  • Universal Credit

If you earn less than £16,009.50 (or £17,500 if you are a West Midlands Combined Authority resident) and able to provide supporting evidence of your wage/earnings, ESOL may be free for you.

If you have a current Asylum application and have lived in the UK for at least six months, you may not have to pay for your course. You will need to provide evidence of your Asylum claim.

What happens during the enrolment process?

  • Test for speaking, listening, reading and writing
  • Speak with the teacher
  • Agree a suitable course and start date
  • Enrol and provide evidence and payment for your course.

You should allow at least 90 minutes to complete the full enrolment process.
