The following benefits (in your name) may allow you to have your course for free. You need to show us proof of your recent entitlement to benefit.

  • Job Seeker’s Allowance (JSA) including JSA N1 Only Credits
  • Employment Support Allowance – Work related Activity Group (ESA WRAG)
  • Universal Credit

If you are employed and earn less than £16,009.50 annual gross salary (£17,500 if you live at a West Midlands Combined Authority address) and able to provide supporting evidence of your wage, ESOL is free for you.

If you have a current Asylum application and have lived in the UK for at least six months, you may not have to pay for your course. You will need to provide evidence of your Asylum claim.

What happens during the enrolment process?

  • Test for speaking, listening, reading and writing
  • Speak with the teacher
  • Agree a suitable course and start date
  • Enrol and provide evidence and payment for your course.

You should allow at least 90 minutes to complete the full enrolment process.
