
This Extended Diploma in Creative Digital Media Practice (Film, TV & Radio Pathway) is aimed at anyone who has a desire to explore the academic study of film media and is considering a career in film and media.
You’ll need four GCSEs at Grade 4/C or above.
The course covers how to analyse current film and media, and develops skills needed to create film media for professional purposes. It is a mixture of theoretical and practical units that explore film and media production techniques, industry context and key theorists. Units studied include Film Production (Documentary Making & Genre Projects), Camera Techniques and Personal Progression.
Students get involved in film based projects, trips to museums and production companies, and screening visits.
Assessment is via practical assignments, coursework, presentations, portfolios and class work.
The course is equivalent to three A Levels, so you can use it to apply to university or an arts/film school to study for a degree or similar qualification in a film or media related subject.
