The Level 2 Electrical Installation course is ideal for a wide range of learners. It’s commonly chosen by school leavers looking to start a practical career, career changers seeking a new trade, and apprentices already working in the electrical industry who need formal qualifications. It’s also popular among DIY enthusiasts and self-employed tradespeople wanting to gain certification and improve their credibility.

Prospective students are generally required to have:

· Four GCSEs, including Maths and English at Grade 4/C or above, plus two other relevant subjects at Grade 3 or above.

· Alternatively, a Level 1 qualification in a related field may also be considered.

The Level 2 Diploma in Electrical Installation is an introductory qualification designed to develop your knowledge and practical skills for a career in the electrical industry. It provides hands-on training in workshop environments, focusing on core electrical principles, safety practices, and installation techniques relevant to residential, commercial, and industrial settings.

Core Units

• Health and safety in building services engineering

• Principles of electrical science

• Electrical installations technology

• Installation of wiring systems and enclosures

• Understanding the structure of the construction industry

The course often includes enrichment activities such as:

· A minimum of 30 hours of work experience

· Guest speakers from the industry

· Visits to local companies and engineering exhibitions

These experiences aim to enhance students’ understanding of the engineering sector and provide valuable industry insights.

· Online multiple-choice tests

· Written examinations · Practical assignments

· Move onto a Level 3 Diploma in Electrical Installation

· Start an Apprenticeship: Apprenticeships in Electrical Engineering

· Enter the workforce
