This course is suitable for people intending to become first aiders at work, enabling them to practise first aid to the required standard, and deal safely and effectively with injuries or illnesses which occur in the workplace. More first aid topics are covered on this course than on the Emergency First Aid at Work course.
There are no formal entry requirements for this course.
This three-day course runs from 9.00am till 5.00pm at Sandwell College’s Central Campus or off site. Course content covers Priorities of First Aid, Unconsciousness and Recovery Position, CPR, Control of Bleeding, Treatment of Shock, Heart Attack, Injuries at Work, Illness Recognition, Reporting Accidents and First Aid Kits. The cost of this course includes a first aid manual, training pack, exam fee, and certificate which is valid for three years. Courses are available for groups of up to 12 people. You will be required to wear comfortable clothing and footwear for this course, as practical work will be carried out.
There will be a multiple choice assessment paper and practical assessment at the end of the course.
