This Level 2 Certificate for Dog Grooming Assistants is a one-year course aimed at school leavers and adults who want to progress into the Dog Grooming industry and learn the basics of dog grooming. The course is a pre-requisite for the Level 3 Dog Grooming qualification.
Maths and English at Grade 2 and above.
This Level 2 Certificate for Dog Grooming Assistants qualification is designed to help build knowledge and understanding while developing your work-based skills. It will give you the basis to start working in the dog grooming environment as an assistant.
There are different units to complete, which involve both practical and theoretical aspects.
The practical takes place in the college’s up-to-date commercial on-site grooming salons. The units include:
Students have the benefit of working in our very own dog grooming salons, training with real dogs from clients.
Students also have the opportunity to go to Crufts on a trip.
To gain this qualification, candidates must successfully achieve the following assessments:
Synoptic practical exams
This qualification is graded Pass/Merit/Distinction
Support is provided by personal tutors and a specialist dog grooming assessor.
On successful completion of the Level 2 Certificate for Dog Grooming Assistants, you can progress on to the Level 3 Diploma for Professional Dog Grooming Stylists or gain employment in the industry.
