Diamond Sponsors of BFW25: Shaping The Future of Fashion & Education

The Sandwell Colleges are proud to continue our collaboration with the Birmingham Fashion Council and to support the success of Birmingham Fashion Week as a Diamond Sponsor. Our sponsorship helps to create opportunities for young creatives and showcase incredible talent, shaping the future of fashion and education.

Now in its third year, Birmingham Fashion Week returned with four days of bold programming across four vibrant city locations. Championing sustainability, local talent and accessible entry points into the fashion world, BFW25 continues to break the mould of traditional fashion weeks.

Principal and CEO of The Sandwell Colleges, Lisa Capper MBE, said: “We are proud to continue our collaboration with the Birmingham Fashion Council and to support Birmingham Fashion Week. This event is one of the city’s most prominent moments in the creative industries calendar and provides our learners with an exceptional opportunity to gain hands-on experience whilst developing new skills and opportunities to engage directly with professionals at the heart of the UK’s vibrant fashion scene.”

BFW2025 provides a dynamic opportunity for our fashion, art and media students to gain vital industry experience and connections, explore their creativity in real world settings, and turn their individual passions into careers.

The week opened with a city-centre art exhibition and launch party, bringing together creatives, collaborators and the local community to kick off the celebration.

On day two, BFW partnered with Oxfam Moseley to deliver a hands-on upcycling workshop, where participants reworked second-hand garments into new pieces, closing with a mini catwalk and photo session.

Day three focused on industry masterclasses and networking, including the return of The F Word, hosted by founder of BK Networks and BK Spaces Belinda Kaur. The panel opened up real conversations around money, career growth and navigating the creative industries.

Millennium Point, the official catwalk venue sponsor of Birmingham Fashion Week, hosted the spectacular grand finale runway show.

Belinda Kaur said: “This isn’t just another event – it’s about breaking down barriers between creativity and collaboration within our creative community. Birmingham has incredible creative energy, and events like this are essential for helping local talent connect, grow, and put the West Midlands on the map as a major creative hub.”

Delivering 50+ career-focused programmes, including creative industries qualifications ranging from Fashion, Fine Art and Digital Media to 3D Design, The Sandwell Colleges are dedicated to equipping the next generation with the practical skills, knowledge, and industry connections they need to thrive.

Our support for BFW25 highlights a shared commitment to nurturing local talent, championing creativity, and creating real pathways into the creative industries for young people across the West Midlands.

Founder of the Birmingham Fashion council and BFW, Nat Sakinah, said: “Birmingham boasts a deep creative legacy across music, art, culture, and craft – but its fashion scene hasn’t always had its moment. At BFW25, we proudly present and celebrate the work of local, innovative, sustainable independent designers and artists. Equally important is our commitment to supporting emerging talent — students, NEET, those from underrepresented communities and early-career creatives — by offering hands-on industry work experience.”
