If you’re interested in the world of business and want to learn how real companies work, this exciting two-year course is for you. Equivalent to three A Levels, you’ll explore everything from marketing and finance to management and entrepreneurship, giving you the practical skills and knowledge that employers and universities love. Whether you want to go to university, start your own business, or get your foot in the door of a top company, this course is the perfect first step.

To apply for this Level 3 Foundation Diploma in Business, you will need to have either:

  • Five GCSEs at Grade 4/C or above, including Grade 4/C or above in both English and Maths

Or

  • A related BTEC Level 2 Extended Certificate or Diploma at Merit or above, plus Grade 4/C or above in GCSE English and Maths.

When you’re not studying, there’s a wide range of enrichment activities to get involved in – perfect for making new friends, building confidence, and gaining experiences that will boost your CV or university application.

Through the Student Union and college committees, you can take part in everything from sports teams, enterprise and volunteering projects to fundraising campaigns and even the prestigious Duke of Edinburgh’s Award.

There’s something for everyone – from joining a debating society, to attending inclusive cultural events and festivals, or enjoying one of our regular film nights and theatre trips.

During this course, you’ll be assessed in a number of ways:

  • Assignments/ Course work
  • Reports
  • Group projects
  • Presentation
  • External Exams – all learners take the same assessment at the same time
  • Tutor observation

The qualification carries UCAS points and is recognised by higher education providers as contributing to meeting admission requirements to many relevant courses, for example:

  • BSc (Hons) in Business and Management
  • BA (Hons) in Business and Finance
  • BA (Hons) in Business with Human Resource Management
  • BA (Hons) and BSc (Hons) in Business Studies
  • BSc (Hons) in International Management
  • BSc (Hons) or BA (Hons) in Marketing
  • BSc (Hons) in Retail Management.

 

After this qualification, learners can also progress directly into employment, however it is likely that many will do so via higher study. Areas of employment include roles in marketing, administration, finance, financial services, procurement, events management, human resources, and other related areas in the business sector.
