This one-year Level 2 Vehicle Body Repair course is for 16-19 year-olds who want to learn and develop lots of practical skills associated with the repair of vehicle bodies. The course is ideal for learners who have a Level 1 qualification already, or previous experience. The course covers technical needs for basic body repair techniques and procedures. It provides essential knowledge and skills for the body repairer working on a wide range of vehicles in all types of dealerships and specialist accident repair centres.

Candidates must have passion and enthusiasm to work on vehicles and have a good level of English and Maths.

Course summary:

The learning programme involves learners studying both the theory and practical aspects, including:
• removing and fitting permanent and non-permanent fixed body panels and components
• carrying out minor repairs to body panels
• resistance spot and MIG welding.
• Understand how to follow work methods and instructions
Learners will also gain a broad knowledge and understanding of health and safety in the workplace and other skills associated with working in an accident repair centre.

The Level 2 Vehicle accident repair will be assessed by:

  • skills assessments
  • online multiple-choice knowledge tests
  • written assignments

Successful completion of this Level 2 Vehicle Body Repair course will give you automatic entry to the Level 3 programme, such as Level 3 Motor Vehicle Maintenance and Repair, Level 3 Vehicle Body Repair and Level 3 Vehicle Paint Refinishing.
