Our students across The Sandwell Colleges have been busy painting their calves and are now ready for the Bulls in the City Art Trail, all in support of Birmingham Hospice. A huge well done to all students across the colleges who have worked tirelessly on this project to get it complete in time.
The Cadbury Sixth Form College calf is called Apollo and is named after the Greek god of knowledge, youth and education, symbolises the learner journey. Featuring a transition from the four seasons and day to night, the design reflects growth through learning, from winter’s stillness to summer’s energy. Learning is light in the darkness, and education is a continuous cycle.
The Central Saint Michael’s Sixth Form calf is called Lamby, named in tribute to our founding Campus Principal, Dr Matt Lamb. Designed by student Shannon, Lamby reflects aspiration, creativity, and community. From the orange lanyard to subject-inspired patterns, the bull celebrates our student experience, unique architecture, and vibrant local identity.
Finally, the Sandwell College calf is called Archibull, reflecting Birmingham’s industrial heritage and the arches of Digbeth’s landscape. Created by our Level 3 Art & Design learners, the design celebrates community, teamwork, and identity. With bold, layered media, it showcases Birmingham’s landmarks and cultural richness, capturing the learners’ shared pride in their journey at Sandwell College.
