Sandwell College learners who took their GCSE English and Maths exams this summer have achieved excellent results with more students than ever before passing their exams, bucking the trend of declining results.
Lisa Capper MBE, Principal and CEO of The Sandwell Colleges, said: “Our students come to us with an ambition to get on with their education towards great careers, university or apprenticeships. In order to do this, they need to achieve a high-grade pass in English and/or Maths GCSE.
“Sandwell College learners’ success this summer is testament to their hard work and commitment. We are delighted with the progress they have made during their studies, supported by our talented teaching and support colleagues.”
Many learners will now progress to a brighter future and the next stage of their education, whether that is in further or higher education, into an Apprenticeship or taking those first steps in their early-stage career.
- Shay is now off to Birmingham City University to study Architecture after gaining a grade 4 in GCSE Maths alongside his Level 3 Art & Design qualification
- Seyedeh gained grade 6 in Maths and grade 4 in English. She has already completed Level 1 in Computing and now plans to progress to a T Level.
