Ambitious students from Sandwell College enjoyed an exciting opportunity to plan what’s next for their future at our Higher Education Fair.
Learners got the chance to meet face-to-face with representatives from almost 30 different universities, including Aston University, Bangor University, Birmingham City University, University of Birmingham, Coventry University, De Montfort University, University of Leicester, Oxford Brookes University, University of Reading, University of Wolverhampton, and University of Worcester, and get tailored advice on choosing degree courses and higher apprenticeship options, as well as writing those all-important personal statements.
With the UCAS deadline fast approaching for our applicants, our knowledgeable Careers team were also on hand to help students apply for university-level courses and talk them through their research.
Careers Officer Hannah Yates, who organised the event, said students found the fair really useful and informative for making important decisions about their future.
She added: “This week at Sandwell College we have also run 16 personal statement sessions for students with five different universities involved. We are committed to supporting every student to achieve their ambitions, whether that’s progressing to university, an apprenticeship, or skilled employment.”
Last year well over 1,000 of our students from The Sandwell Colleges were placed at university destinations, with many progressing to Russell Group institutions including Oxford, Birmingham, Nottingham, Warwick, Manchester, Leeds, Liverpool, Southampton and York.
