Sandwell College Construction Students Shine at CITB SkillBuild Regional Qualifiers

Sandwell College Construction learners made a strong impression at the recent CITB SkillBuild regional qualifiers, held at Dudley College, proudly representing the college and the wider West Midlands.

Level 1 Plastering students Morgan and Caitlin-Lee competed against more experienced Level 2 learners and apprentices, demonstrating exceptional technical ability, determination, and professionalism beyond their years. Their craftsmanship drew high praise from the competition’s judges, showcasing the power and potential of skills-based education.

SkillBuild, the UK’s largest construction skills competition, aims to boost confidence, raise aspirations, and highlight the outstanding talent developing across the region. Events like these not only test technical knowledge but also promote personal growth and pride in vocational learning.

Adding to the excitement, Caitlin-Lee received a personal good luck message from West Midlands Combined Authority Mayor Richard Parker—a proud and unforgettable moment for her, her classmates, and the entire Sandwell College community.
