The Sandwell Colleges pledged its commitment to creating youth-ready employment opportunities, hosting the Youth Friendly Employer Accreditation Workshop for the Young Combined Authority.
CEO and Principal Lisa Capper MBE welcomed the INSPIRE project team of changemakers to Central Campus, and Assistant Principal Nargis Bostan took part in the panel discussion, as one of the project’s policymakers keen to translate proposals into actions, placing young voices at the heart of shaping real, sustainable change.
By breaking down barriers and bridging the gap to making work experience placements more meaningful for our young people, this was a safe space for our student representatives to share their experiences and expectations with stakeholders and forward-thinking employers, whose priority is to make youth employment and democracy more engaging.

Through legislative theatre, podcasting, creative collaboration, honest dialogue, and insights from the Inspire Project and Young Combined Authority Youth Summit, the workshop explored how lived experiences can inform practical standards for inclusive and empowering workplaces.
Assistant Principal Nargis Bostan said: “A heartfelt thank you to everyone who contributed from the passionate young people who shared their voices, to the employers and partners who are committed to shaping a fairer future of work. Your engagement and ideas are helping us turn conversation into action.”
