Making the Most of Your Summer

Exams are over, your place is secured, and now you’ve got a well-deserved summer ahead. It’s time to enjoy the freedom — but also look ahead to the exciting opportunities waiting for you at Sandwell College.

This summer is a great time to reflect, refresh and get yourself ready to hit the ground running in September. Here’s how to make the most of it:

Explore Your Subjects

Have a look into the topics you’ll be studying at College. You might want to read around your chosen courses or follow related content online — podcasts, articles, even YouTube explainers. It’s a great way to build excitement and get ahead without the pressure.

Boost Your Experience

Summer jobs, volunteering or online courses are great ways to gain transferable skills. Whether it’s communication, problem-solving or teamwork, every bit of experience counts — and it gives you more to talk about when it comes to future career planning or UCAS applications.

Take Time for You

Don’t forget to unwind. This summer is a chance to recharge after the pressure of school life. Whether that’s seeing friends, going on holiday or just switching off for a bit, use this time to reset — so you’re ready to make the most of everything Sandwell College has to offer in September.
