This Introductory Diploma is ideal for learners new to the field of health and social care, seeking to establish a solid foundation of knowledge and practical skills. The course is designed to support students in developing both personal and professional abilities, with a strong emphasis on hands-on learning and real-world application.

Throughout the course, learners will gain insight into the principles of care, communication, and human development, while building essential skills such as teamwork, problem-solving, and effective communication. A key feature of the course is the opportunity for work placements at the brand new Midland Met Learning Campus at Sandwell Hospital, where students can observe professionals in action and gain valuable experience to help shape their future career decisions.

You’ll need GCSE Maths and English at Grade 2 or Functional Skills Maths and English at Entry Level 3.

Healthcare students get involved in a range of activities as part of their course, from organising gameathons to creating and editing their own magazine. Other activities our students get involved in are:
