ESOL (English for Speakers of Other Languages) Pre-Entry is designed for people who are:
- new to the English language and have little or no knowledge of English. You may not be literate in your own first language, and need support with basic communication in everyday situations.
- refugees, asylum seekers or migrants. Often these people have recently arrived in an English-speaking country, and need to learn English to settle into the community and access services.
- in need of basic skills, The course focuses on speaking, listening, reading, and writing simple English. It includes everyday topics like introducing yourself, using public transport, shopping, or asking for help.
- preparing for further learning
ESOL Pre-Entry is usually a starting point before progressing to Entry Level 1, Entry Level 2, and so on.
