The aim of the course is to build on the basic employment skills, practical skills, and knowledge that was covered in the Level 1 diploma and developing further skills that are required to become a Carpenter.
It’s about preparing you to meet the needs of employers and work in the industry. The course consists of both practical and theoretical elements, and you must successfully complete both parts to achieve this qualification.
Employers will expect good attendance, behaviour, and communication skills, enabling you to interact with clients, work safely, use initiative, and demonstrate carpentry skills. As the course progresses, you will build upon your skills in preparation for practical assessments and knowledge tests.
A large part of the course is workshop-based, allowing you to acquire practical skills and job-related knowledge. As a college, we will reinforce the values expected in the industry to give you the skills to be successful in work and life.
