If you’re a school leaver looking to break into the construction industry, this hands-on course is the perfect place to start. The Level 1 Diploma in Plastering is designed to develop your practical skills, industry knowledge, and employability—preparing you for a future as a professional plasterer.

You’ll learn the essential techniques used in modern plastering, from preparing surfaces and mixing materials to applying scratch coats and finishing internal walls. A large part of the course takes place in our fully equipped workshops, giving you real experience with the tools and materials used in the trade.

This course also helps you develop the key behaviours and values employers are looking for, including reliability, teamwork, and good communication. You’ll build your confidence, take part in assessments, and gain the skills you need to move into further training or the workplace.

You should have GCSE Grade 2 or above in both Maths and English.

  • Health, Safety and Welfare in Construction

  • Principles of Building Construction, Information and Communication

  • Prepare Background Surfaces and Mix Plastering Materials

  • Apply Scratch Coats to Internal Backgrounds

  • Fix Sheet Materials

  • Apply Floating Coats to Walls

  • Apply Setting Coats to Walls

Practical Assessments and Multiple-Choice Tests.
