What are T Levels?
T Levels are two-year technical qualifications developed with employers to ensure students gain the skills and knowledge needed for their chosen industry. They are equivalent to three A Levels and combine classroom learning with practical experience, preparing students for skilled employment, apprenticeships, or further study.

You will learn computer programming developing in a range of programming languages, Python, C#, HTML5, Javascript and others. This is undertaken alongside 8 core modules from cybersecurity, computer systems, data and core information technologies.

Course Structure:

  • 80% Classroom Learning – Students study 14 core topic areas relevant to the Digital industry.

  • 20% Industry Placement – A minimum of 45 days on placement with an employer to gain on-the-job technical skills.

Six GCSEs at Grade 4 or above, including English and Maths.

Vocational Tech Award qualification(s) at Level 2 Merit and above in a relevant subject, e.g. BTEC Tech Award in Digital Information Technology.

Year 1 involves an employer set project and 8 core modules. Year 2 involves a work placement and an occupational specialism.

Occupational Specialism

Design, development and implementation project of an IT project

IT Industry Placement

3 months, working in the industry on an Externally Set Project.

Computing students get involved in a range of activities as part of their course, from organising gameathons to creating and editing their own magazine. Other activities our students get involved in are:
