Level 3 Extended Diploma in Performing Arts Practice (Musical Theatre)

This Level 3 Extended Diploma in Performing Arts Practice – Musical Theatre course is aimed at students who want to continue their learning via the creative world of Performance.  The nature of the course demands total commitment and high levels of energy from students. Full-scale productions are staged each term for a variety of different audiences.

• Learn acting techniques for a range of performance styles, developing skills in characterisation, voice, movement, script analysis, responding to direction, improvisation, physical theatre, devising and communicating to an audience
• Develop singing and voice techniques, learning the anatomy and physiology of your voice, technical exercises to develop control, range, intonation, resonance, articulation and healthy vocal production, music and lyric interpretation, acting through song, harmonising, and ensemble and solo singing
• Learn dance and movement skills, exploring techniques in ballet, jazz, contemporary and tap, developing your flexibility, stamina, control, fitness and interpretive dance
• Combine all 3 disciplines in a variety of musical theatre performance projects, leading to showcases and full-scale performances
• Develop a repertoire of audition material, create professional headshots and showreels/voicereels and produce a digital portfolio to support your future career as a performer
• Learn about the wider Performing Arts Industry and the range of job roles and careers within the creative sector
