
This course is for learners that have an interest in Health and Social Care and want to study the foundation learning programme. It provides learners with the basic understanding and knowledge of the subject area. It is aimed at school leavers and ESOL 16-18 year old learners.
There are no entry requirements.
The course involves the following modules:
• Unit 5: Health Needs
• Unit 6: Introduction to Creative and Leisure Activities for Children and Adults
• Unit 10: Self-assessment
• Unit 11: Career Progression
• Unit 13: Personal Care in Health and Social Care
• Unit 17: Promoting Healthy Eating in Care
You will also be studying Employability Skills, alongside Maths and English. You'll be able to develop your skills in the simulated hospital ward and you'll be taught by teachers who have experience within health and social care settings.
You'll attend a range of trips and visits to local health and social care settings. There will also be fundraising activities for you to get involved with to support a variety of charities, and guest speakers will help enhance your knowledge of the subject area.

Online assessments
On successful completion of this course you can progress to the Level 1 Introductory Diploma in Health and Social Care.
