Strengthen your understanding of mental health, well-being and emotional resilience with this Level 1 qualification. This course builds on the core themes explored in the taster programme and develops your ability to recognise signs of mental health challenges, understand supportive strategies and explore pathways into care, community or well-being roles.

Ideal for adults interested in personal well-being or those considering a future career in health and social care, the course offers a supportive and reflective learning environment.

Delivered at Cradley Heath Skills Campus – complete with a home care simulation workshop, you’ll gain confidence studying in a modern, adult-friendly campus.

Who is this course for?

Ideal for adults aged 19+ who want to:
• Build deeper understanding of mental health and well-being
• Learn positive strategies for supporting themselves and others
• Work toward roles in care or community support
• Prepare for Level 2 qualifications
• Gain a recognised Level 1 mental health qualification

No previous qualifications needed.

• You must be aged 19+
• Fully funded for most adults living in the West Midlands Combined Authority region

Across 14 weeks, you’ll explore:
• Understanding mental health and common conditions
• Factors affecting mental well-being
• Strategies to support resilience and self-care
• How to recognise stress, anxiety and low mood
• Signposting and sources of support

Learning is discussion-based and interactive.
