Want to feel more confident about making healthy choices for yourself and those around you? This four-week taster course introduces the foundations of good nutrition and how it supports overall physical and mental well-being.

You’ll explore simple, practical ways to improve your diet, understand how food affects the body, and discover how healthy habits can positively support you, your family or your working life. The course is designed for adults at any starting point, science knowledge needed, and provides a welcoming environment to build confidence in understanding nutrition.

Delivered at Cradley Heath Skills Campus, this course helps you build practical knowledge before progressing onto further health and social care study.

Who is this course for?

Ideal for adults aged 19+ who want to:
• Understand the basics of healthy eating
• Gain confidence in making positive lifestyle choices
• Support their own or their family’s well-being
• Explore the health and social care sector
• Prepare for further study in nutrition or well-being

No previous qualifications required.

• You must be aged 19+
• Fully funded for most adults living in the West Midlands Combined Authority area

Across four weekly sessions, you’ll explore:
• The foundations of nutrition and healthy eating
• How food affects energy, mood and health
• Understanding food labels and portion guidance
• Simple ways to improve everyday eating habits
• The link between nutrition and long-term well-being

Learning is interactive and practical, with real-life examples and supportive tutor guidance.
