This Level 3 Diploma in Beauty Therapy Studies VRQ (Electrical and Massage Treatments) is an advanced qualification for learners who wish to pursue a career as an advanced beauty therapist, covering electrical and spa treatments. Once qualified you will be able to start work as a fully qualified beautician or spa therapist and progress to higher education studies in aesthetics.

This Level 3 Diploma is for learners who wish to pursue a career in the spa or aesthetics industry. The course is suitable for 16-18 and adults.

This course will equip learners with the essential skills and knowledge required to be successful within the industry.

Learners will have the opportunity to develop their practical and employability skills to help further develop their knowledge of the industry and gain experience through work experience placements or within our own Bliss Beauty salon.

Holds a Level 2 qualification or equivalent in Beauty therapy

GCSE Grade 3 or above English and Maths, ESOL or Functional Skills Level 1

As part of this Level 3 Diploma in Beauty Therapy Studies VRQ (Electrical and Spa Treatments) course, you will study:

· Monitor and maintain Health and Safety in the salon

· Client Care and communication in beauty related industries

· Anatomy and Physiology

· Working in beauty related industries

· Provide body massage

· Aromatherapy massage

· Stone therapy massage

· Facial electrical treatments

· Body electrical treatments

· Optional: Indian head massage

Course Costs:

Course is funded for 16/18-year-olds
Adults who do not hold a Level 3 or are in receipt of benefits may be eligible for fees to be funded.
Students are required to purchase a kit however students can apply for a bursary to support the cost if eligible
Uniform will be provided by the department but appropriate shoes will need to be purchased.

Facilities:

Students who study this course will have access to our State-of-the-art professional salons for Hair, Beauty, Barbering and Nails.

Students get the opportunity to work on real clients in our Bliss Hair & Beauty Salons under close supervision by our highly experienced and dedicated staff.

You can benefit from external training with global hair colour brand Matrix and Dermalogica to stretch and challenge your skills.

Formative and summative assessment via practical observations based on individual performance to assess the level of competency.

Theory knowledge is assessed via multiple choice online exams and/or assignments and work packs. All exams are marked externally by the awarding body, and your final grade will be a Pass.

Practical demonstrations and knowledge sessions will be provided to prepare for assessments and exams.

On successful completion of this course, learners will be qualified to work as a therapist in a salon, spa or skin clinic

Learners can progress onto the following courses to further their career opportunities;

· Level 4 Advanced Beauty Therapy

· University HE- FND Level 4 in Aesthetics leading to Level 5 /6 HND
