Ready to explore a new trade or enhance your DIY skills? The Adults Level 1 Introduction to Plastering is a hands-on, beginner-friendly course designed specifically for adults looking to start a career in the construction industry or improve their home renovation abilities.

Delivered one evening a week (Tuesdays) over a set period, this City & Guilds-accredited course provides a practical introduction to the essential skills, tools, and techniques used in professional plastering. With no prior experience needed, you’ll work in a supportive environment to build confidence and competence through guided tasks and real-world applications.

From applying finishing and backing plaster to rendering and forming mouldings, you’ll gain the foundational knowledge and experience required for further training or entry-level employment in the plastering trade.

No formal requirements but a keen interest in the construction industry and basic numeracy and literacy skills.

Modules include:

  • Introduction to Health and Safety

  • Safe Use of Hand Tools

  • Applying Finishing Plaster

  • Applying Backing Plaster

  • Applying Rendering

  • Forming Mouldings
