Thinking about a career change or keen to improve your DIY skills? Our Adults Level 1 Introduction to Carpentry is the perfect starting point for anyone looking to explore the world of woodworking and construction.

This beginner-friendly evening course is tailored for adults with little or no prior experience in carpentry. Delivered in a supportive, hands-on environment, the course introduces essential tools, techniques, and safety practices used in the trade. You’ll gain practical skills through guided projects while learning to read technical drawings and understanding industry-standard processes.

Whether you’re aiming to progress to further training, enter the construction industry, or simply build confidence in your own home improvement abilities, this course provides a solid foundation to get started.

No formal requirements but a keen interest in the construction industry and basic numeracy and literacy skills.

Modules include:

  • Introduction to Health and Safety

  • Safe Use of Hand Tools

  • Safe Use of Portable Power Tools

  • Cutting of Various Joints

  • Fixing Architrave and Skirting

  • Installing Locks and Latches
