Help your child feel confident and supported as they learn and grow with this four-week taster course designed for parents and carers. You’ll explore how young children learn, how to make learning fun and effective at home, and how simple techniques can boost your child’s progress, independence and emotional wellbeing.

This course is perfect if you want to feel more confident helping with early learning, or if you’re considering exploring early years, teaching support or family learning roles in the future. Practical, real-life examples make each session easy to follow and immediately useful.
Delivered at Cradley Heath Skills Campus, you’ll learn in a relaxed and supportive adult learning environment.

Who is this course for?

Ideal for adults aged 19+ who want to:
• Support children’s early learning and confidence
• Understand how children learn best
• Make learning enjoyable at home
• Explore roles in early years or education
• Build confidence before studying childcare

No previous experience required.

• You must be aged 19+
• Fully funded for most residents of the West Midlands Combined Authority area

You will explore:
• How children learn through routine, interaction and play
• Encouraging confidence, independence and resilience
• Supporting literacy, language and early number skills
• Creating positive learning routines at home
• Practical strategies to support children’s emotional wellbeing

Learning includes demonstrations, hands-on activities and group discussion.
