This Level 2 qualification introduces the essential customer service skills required in health, care and community settings. You’ll explore how to communicate professionally, support individuals’ needs, respond to queries and provide excellent service in environments where care, compassion and clarity are essential.

Ideal for adults preparing for roles in care, support services, reception, administration or community engagement, this course provides practical skills that transfer across many roles.

Delivered at Cradley Heath Skills Campus – complete with a home care simulation workshop, you’ll study in a supportive environment tailored to adult learners.

Who is this course for?

Perfect for adults aged 19+ who want to:
• Develop professional customer service skills for care settings
• Improve communication, listening and problem-solving
• Prepare for work in health, care or community roles
• Progress toward Level 2 or Level 3 qualifications
• Gain a qualification valued by employers

Entry Level 3 or Level 1 experience is beneficial but not required.

• You must be aged 19+
• Fully funded for most adults within the West Midlands Combined Authority area

Across 14 weeks, you’ll study:

• Providing excellent customer service in care environments
• Responding professionally to queries, concerns and feedback
• Understanding confidentiality and safeguarding expectations
• Communicating clearly and compassionately
• Supporting individuals in a safe and respectful manner

Learning includes practical activities, scenarios and discussions.

Weekly classroom sessions. Assessment is portfolio-based — no formal exam.

You may go onto further study at Cradley Heath Skills Campus:
• Level 2 or Level 3 Health & Social Care qualifications
• Level 2 Mental Health or Well-being programmes
• Wider adult learning in English, Digital or Employability

This qualification also supports progression into care support roles, reception roles in healthcare, community services and early health sector employment.
