Develop the confidence, communication skills and personal effectiveness needed for everyday life, work and future study with this Level 1 qualification in Personal & Social Development Skills.

This course builds on key themes from the taster programme, helping you explore your strengths, set goals, improve communication and develop resilience in a supportive, adult-focused environment. You’ll take part in practical activities that help you grow your confidence step-by-step while gaining a recognised qualification valued across health, care and community-based roles.

Delivered at Cradley Heath Skills Campus – complete with a home care simulation workshop, this course is ideal for adults wanting to rebuild confidence, return to education or prepare for higher-level training.

Who is this course for?

Perfect for adults aged 19+ who want to:
• Build greater confidence and self-awareness
• Strengthen communication and problem-solving skills
• Prepare for further learning or work-based training
• Improve personal resilience and well-being
• Gain a Level 1 qualification to support future progression

No previous qualifications required.

• You must be aged 19+
• Fully funded for most adults living in the West Midlands Combined Authority area

Over 14 weeks, you’ll explore:

• Strategies to improve well-being and resilience
• Teamwork, problem solving and social awareness
• Personal development skills for everyday life and work
