Take control of your personal finances and build confidence managing money with this practical four-week course, delivered in person at Cradley Heath Skills Campus.

The Level 1 Award in Managing Your Money gives you the essential skills to understand your income, plan your spending, and make informed financial choices. Whether you’re supporting a family, returning to learning, or simply wanting to feel more confident with money, this course gives you knowledge you can use straight away.

Who is this course for?

This course is ideal for adults aged 19+ who want to:

  • Build confidence managing day-to-day finances
  • Understand budgeting, spending and saving
  • Make informed decisions about borrowing, credit and financial services
  • Strengthen financial skills to support family life, work or future study
  • No previous qualifications are required.
  • You must be aged 19+

Across four weekly sessions, you’ll explore a range of practical topics through real-life scenarios, including:

  • Creating a simple and realistic personal budget
  • Understanding different types of income and expenditure
  • Exploring savings, borrowing and financial products
  • Planning ahead and avoiding common financial pitfalls
  • Knowing where to access financial support, tools and advice
  • Learning takes place in small groups, with a supportive tutor guiding you through each step.

You’ll attend one half-day session per week at Cradley Heath Skills Campus. There are no exams, instead, you’ll complete a small portfolio of short tasks and activities. Your tutor will provide regular feedback to help you build confidence as you progress.
