This practical four-week course helps you develop the English skills needed to manage everyday health and well-being situations with confidence.
You’ll learn how to understand health information, describe symptoms, read appointment letters and communicate clearly with healthcare professionals. Whether supporting your own health, caring for others, or wanting to improve your English for daily life, this course provides clear, useful skills you can use immediately.
You’ll study at Cradley Heath Skills Campus, part of the number one college group for student achievement in the West Midlands, where adult learners are supported to succeed at every stage.

Who is this course for?

This course is ideal for adults aged 19+ who want to:

  • Improve their English skills for job searching
  • Communicate confidently in interviews
  • Understand job descriptions and application forms
  • Write simple emails, forms and statements
  • Build confidence before progressing to further study
  • No previous qualifications are required.
  • You must be aged 19+

What will I learn?

Across four weekly sessions, you’ll develop practical English skills for employment, including:

  • Reading and understanding job adverts and descriptions
  • Writing short applications, emails and personal statements
  • Building confidence speaking in interviews or workplace conversations
  • Listening for key information in work-related scenarios
  • Using vocabulary and phrases commonly used in professional settings

Learning takes place in small groups, with your tutor providing step-by-step guidance throughout.

You’ll attend one half-day session per week at Cradley Heath Skills Campus. There are no exams; instead, you’ll complete practical tasks that help you apply new skills straight away. Your tutor will offer continuous feedback to build your confidence as you progress.
