This course is designed for adult learners aged 19 and above who are interested in pursuing a career in health and social care. It is suitable for individuals seeking to develop foundational skills and knowledge to enter or progress within the care sectors.

  • Age: 19+
  • Entry 2 certificates in both English and Maths.
  • Vocational experience would be of benefit but is not mandatory.
  • No prior health and social care qualifications required
  • Must not hold an equivalent qualification at the same or higher level
  • Must not be enrolled on the same, or equivalent, programme elsewhere.

This course offers a practical introduction to skills and knowledge essential for working in the health, lifestyle, or science sectors. Learners will explore personal health, diet, physical activity, and how lifestyle choices affect wellbeing. They will also focus on employability skills such as preparing for interviews and personal presentation in the workplace.

The course includes opportunities for personal development, building self-confidence, and understanding how to support others to live healthy and active lives. It is designed to help learners move closer to employment or further study.
