The Employment Pathway provides a route for progression to developing key skills and attributes required to access voluntary/paid work opportunities, supported internships/apprenticeships and further cross-college study. The pathway has a number of entry points including; transitioning from independence; acknowledgement of previous post-16 study (entry level), and previous secondary study (L1/GCSE).
This course is for young people 16-18 and young people with an EHCP – up to the age of 25 years old.
Learners on the employment pathway may have SEND needs which have been identified and supported either within Foundation Learning or at their previous place of study. Learners studying on the employment pathway may also have been identified as having higher levels of existing qualifications but may require additional support (exam access/SEMH needs) to transition to a new environment, whilst still having the opportunity to study a qualification in their identified vocational preference (L1 entry).
Possible progression routes for learners accessing the Employment Pathway include: supported internships, apprenticeships, further vocational specific training, cross-college study, employment, and voluntary work.
The core aims of the pathway include:
· Preparation for employability
· Introduction to employability through enterprise

· Employability skills for work including individual work placement and vocational tasters
