Former Business student Uniqua

Uniqua Brown

We are incredibly proud of Uniqua, whose journey from Sandwell College to a thriving career is a true testament to the power of skills, opportunity, and determination.

Uniqua achieved Triple Distinction in her Extended Diploma in Business, which led to an Excellence Scholarship at Aston University. She then went on to graduate with a Master’s in Business & International Relations, building a strong foundation for her future.

Fast forward to today, and Uniqua is making a real impact. After securing a Civil Service internship, she is now Business Process & Change Manager at the West Midlands Combined Authority. Recently, her team celebrated a double win at the WMCA Xtra Awards!

“My lecturers at Sandwell College believed in me and always pushed me to try my best,” says Uniqua.

Her journey is a perfect example of how the right support, skills, and experiences can open doors to exciting career opportunities. A huge well done to Uniqua – an inspiration to our current students.

With higher temperatures expected over the next few days, we are reminding all students to come prepared for hot weather so they can stay comfortable and focused while learning:

  • Stay hydrated throughout the day and make regular use of the college water fountains
  • Wear light, breathable clothing suitable for warm conditions
  • Bring a hand‑held fan or other small cooling aid
  • Refill water bottles frequently and avoid excessive time in direct sun during breaks

Thank you for your support in helping students stay safe and well during the warm weather.
