Who is this course for?

People in a full teaching role who wish to achieve professional status. Candidates will come from a variety of vocational backgrounds, but will be seeking to gain a qualification for the ‘full’ teaching role. You must have access to 120 hours of teaching practice across a range of levels in recognised locations.

You must have a Level 3 qualification in the subject you wish to teach. You will also need access to a full teaching role with a minimum of 120 hours teaching. In addition, you must also demonstrate a minimum of Level 2 in literacy.

This course offers you an opportunity to gain the initial knowledge and skills required to become a qualified teacher of adults. You will develop schemes of work for programmes of study, construct resources, advise and guide your students and provide assessment links with awarding bodies.

You must complete coursework to the value of 120 credits and a minimum of 8 teaching observations assessed by criteria set by the University of Wolverhampton.

Once you have successfully completed the Diploma, you can apply for Qualified Teacher Learning and Skills status (QTLS).
