Date 3 May 2018

Four young directors from Year 2 Performing Arts Acting BTEC have worked with first year learners to create and stage ‘Blank’ by Alice Birch.

A director from National Theatre is helping the students to prepare the piece for transfer to The Royal & Derngate Theatre in Northampton!

It will be performed at 1.30pm on 3 May as part of the National Theatre Connections festival.

We are one of only a very few companies in the UK who have allowed this project to be led entirely by the students themselves!

The National Theatre Connections festival is a celebration of young people, theatre-making and the importance of access to the arts.

Each year the NT commissions 10 new plays for young people to perform, bringing together some of the most exciting writers with the theatremakers of tomorrow. Royal & Derngate hosts one of the 29 local festivals that take place across the country.

Connections is an unforgettable feast of theatre made by and for young people.
