Course summary

This BTEC Level 3 course is for learners who wish to pursue a career in uniformed public services, in particular the police, prison service, probation service, ambulance service, fire service, and the military. The course has a criminal justice pathway to support your development and your career aspirations. Course requirements

You'll need five GCSEs at Grade 4 or above, including English and Maths.

This BTEC Level 3 National Diploma in Uniformed Public Services with Criminal Justice Pathway course boasts a mixture of theoretical and practical units which mirrors the work of the uniformed protective services.

Core modules will include:

  • Citizenship and Diversity
  • Behaviour and Discipline in the Uniformed Protective Services
  • Teamwork, Leadership and Communication in the Uniformed Protective Services
  • Physical Preparation, Health and Lifestyle
  • A Pathway-Specific Module

Students will be working alongside a variety of uniformed protective services to increase their understanding of the work, role and responsibilities involved.

You will gain a variety of employability skills during the course including teamwork, communication, leadership and self-sufficiency skills. These skills are all desirable for entry into public services roles.

Students will take part in trips which might incur a small extra cost.

The BTEC Level 3 National Diploma in Uniformed Public Services with Criminal Justice Pathway assessment includes a combination of exam-based assessments, written assessments and practical assessments.
