
An Operations or departmental manager is someone who manages teams and/or projects, and achieves operational or departmental goals and objectives, as part of the delivery of the organisation's strategy. They are accountable to a more senior manager or a business owner. Working in the private, public or third sector and in all sizes of organisation, specific responsibilities and job titles will vary, but the knowledge, skills, and behaviours needed will be the same. Key responsibilities may include creating and delivering operational plans, managing projects, leading and managing teams, managing change, financial and resource management, talent management, coaching and mentoring. Roles may include: Operations manager, Regional manager, Divisional manager, Department manager, and Specialist managers.
You will have completed a relevant Level 3 qualification/apprenticeship in a business-related subject and be working in a suitable environment. Learners will have GCSE Grade C or above or equivalent.
You will have an initial assessment prior to enrolling and prior work experience assessed.

This course will be delivered as a day release programme. You will be expected to attend one session per month – this will either be via Teams or face to face delivery at Sandwell College – Main Campus, and day release element of the course will count toward the mandatory 20% off the job.
