Only 1 in 5 Managers have a recognised Management Qualification and yet Employers are actively looking for people with these qualifications right now!  Why not join the ‘1 in 5’and make your  CV stand out from the crowd by gaining a CMI  qualification at Sandwell College? This qualification has been developed by the CMI in cooperation with the Institute for Consulting (IC) and is designed for both practising and aspiring Professional Consultants.  The course is designed to develop the essential  skills and knowledge needed within a  consultancy role and covers essential topics such as;  the nature of consulting, professional personal development as a consultant, effective communication with clients, structured approaches to managing consultancy interventions, using project management techniques in consultancy interventions and conducting successful consultancy interventions.

How much does the course cost?

The total fee for this course (including registration and certification) is £1,800. HOWEVER, if you live within ‘West Midlands Combined Authority’ region, you may be eligible to a FREE place on this course subject to certain terms and conditions.

Course requirements

You must have gained a minimum of five GCSEs at grade C or above including English or equivalent qualifications.   Ideally, you will also have a CMI Level 3 Diploma or similar qualifications at level 3.

However, if you are a mature applicant (over 21 years) your  work experience (paid and/or unpaid) may be  taken into account in lieu of formal qualifications

 

You will study six units:-

 

  • Introduction to Consulting Essentials
  • Planning and Managing Consultancy Interventions
  • The Role and Responsibilities of a Consultant
  • Communication for Consultants
  • The Client Relationship
  • Problem Solving, Tools and Techniques for Consultants

 

Whilst on the course, you will be given FREE professional membership of the CMI, which includes access to a range of CMI products and services to support you throughout the qualification and later as you progress in their career.

When does the course start and end?

 

Start Date: 20th January 2023

End Date:  29th September 2023

This qualification is assessed by one written assignment of approximately 2,500-4,000 words.

 

Progression opportunities include moving on to CMI qualifications at the next level, for example  CMI Level 6 qualifications in Professional Management and Leadership Practice or CMI Level 7 qualifications in Professional Consulting or  Strategic Management and Leadership.
