
The Level 3 NVQ Diploma in Wood Occupations -Site Carpentry qualification has been developed for achievement in a real workplace environment which means you need to be employed to undertake this qualification. This qualification enables you, the learner, to demonstrate and recognise your skills, knowledge and understanding and to demonstrate your competence in a real workplace environment so you can work as a Site Carpenter within the construction industry.
You will need to be employed and working in the construction industry as a site carpenter covering a range of work including; First Fix, Second Fix, Erecting Structural Carcassing Components and Erecting Complex Roof Structure Carcassing Components.
The NVQ will be assessed over approximately six on-site assessments whilst the candidate carries out their day to day work. Evidence will be collected in the form of photographs, method statements and professional discussions by your dedicated Assessor.

This course can be completed in around 12 weeks depending on the type of work undertaken on site. Part time in the workplace
During the initial assessment, your assessor will identify the most appropriate optional units and provide advice and guidance regarding the range of evidence required. Your assessor will provide support throughout the assessment process to ensure the timely completion of your NVQ.
After successfully completing The Level 3 NVQ Diploma in Wood Occupations, you can apply for the Construction Skills Certification Scheme (CSCS) gold card.
