This is an assessment-based qualification to develop your practical skills to provide an effective make-up service for clients. It is suitable for adults or for full-time learners aged 16-18 who wish to upskill their own professional development.

You will need to have GCSE Grade 3 or above in English and Maths, or ESOL at Level 1 or equivalent.

2. Consult, plan and prepare for make-up services
3. Apply make-up products
4. Provide aftercare advice
Practical elements of the course will be assessed in our state-of-the-art salons, and you'll be required to produce a portfolio of your work throughout the course. There is one theory element which is externally marked, and all practical work will be logged in your VTCT assessment book.
You can progress on a hairdressing or beauty pathway, and study a Level 2 Diploma in Hairdressing or Nail Technology. You could also study other short courses to develop your skills. Future career opportunities include working as a freelance make-up artist or at a beauty counter.
