WHO IS THIS COURSE FOR?

This course is for beginners who would like to step up from phone cameras or 'Auto' settings, and who want to improve their photography skills.

FORMAL ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

Access to a camera (a camera with optional manual controls is recommended), basic computer skills, enthusiasm.

WHAT DOES THE COURSE INVOLVE?

This 10-week course runs on Wednesdays from 19th September to 28th November 2018.
Times: 6.00pm–9.00pm
Cost: £200.00

Topics covered include:
• Camera controls, including ISO, white balance, exposure modes (PSAM), etc.
• What the different controls are for, and how to use them effectively.
• Exposure: getting it right, what to look for and how to control it.
• Lenses, focal lengths and zooms, angle of view, perspective, focussing and depth-of-field.
• Visual skills, including composition, viewpoint, and how to get better pictures.
• Introduction to studio photography.

HOW WILL I BE ASSESSED?

You will produce a portfolio of images.
