WHO IS THIS COURSE FOR?

This course is for beginners who want to move on from phone cameras or point-and-shoot, and who want to improve their photography skills.

FORMAL ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

Access to a camera (an interchangeable-lens camera is recommended), basic computer skills, enthusiasm.

WHAT DOES THE COURSE INVOLVE?

This 10-week course runs on Wednesdays from 20th September to 29th November 2017.
Times: 6.00pm–9.00pm
Cost: £200.00

Topics covered include:
• Camera controls, including ISO, white balance, exposure modes (PSAM), etc.
• What the different controls are for, and how to use them effectively.
• Getting the right exposure: what to look for and how to control it.
• Lenses, focal lengths, angle of view, perspective, focussing and depth-of-field.
• Visual skills including composition, viewpoint, and how to get better pictures.
• Introduction to studio photography.

HOW WILL I BE ASSESSED?

You will produce a portfolio of images.
