The course is designed for those who want to develop their drawing abilities further beyond the basics. You will be encouraged to explore differing materials and the use of mixed medias. During the course you will be introduced to the techniques of viewfinders and grids that will assist you in creating accurate portraits that you will be able to enlarge or decrease in scale. The techniques for perspective will also be investigated enabling you to create your own imagery of cityscapes that reach up to the sky or decrease down to street level.

This Thursday evening course lasts for 10 weeks, 3 hours per week (5pm – 8pm):
10th January 2019 – 14th February 2019 = 5 Weeks and 28th February 2019 – 4th April 2019 = 5 Weeks
Topics covered include:
• Perspective: Single point, Two point and Three point
• Sighting - measuring
• View Finder Grid – A technique to enlarge/ decrease the scale of your drawings
You will produce an art portfolio to show how your skills have progressed over the course. A College Certificate is awarded on completion of each level, subject to a minimum attendance of 80%.
You can progress to the Advanced Drawing course.
