
This qualification is designed for individuals who wish to raise awareness of mental health, creating a culture of care and the promotion of positive mental health. This qualification gives you the opportunity to understand mental health, its associated care and how this can be applied to learners or colleagues in the workplace. Workers within a wide range of public service roles may interact with those with mental health issues and support needs in their day-to-day work across a number of sectors.
There are no formal entry requirements, although demonstration of good written English is required at interview. Ideally applicants will have previously studied at Level 2.
This qualification aims to:
• focus on the study of mental health first aid and mental health advocacy in the workplace
• offer breadth and depth of study of mental health first aid.

There are three units which must be completed to support this qualification. These units will be assessed by a mixture of written and creative tasks.
Unit 1 Exploring mental health
Unit 2 Understand how to support individuals with mental ill health
Unit 3 Understand a mentally healthy environment
Both options will be offered as a blended model with both online and face to face sessions included.
This eighteen-week course runs one evening per week (details coming soon).
The cost is £417, although concessions are available.
You can progress to the Level 2 Certificate in Counselling or Level 2 Award in Mentoring.
